Many of us will opt to darken the shade of our hair to ring in the cooler months. For some, a bigger change can be a great way to create an updated look.
The Salon by Lora Brown just returned from the BTC Color, Cut & Style Show, and here are just four of the hottest hairstyles we saw. If you're ready for a new look to celebrate the new season, check out these fall and winter haircut trends. The Short Shag Take a cue from Taylor Swift for this fall trend. The short shag is a cut full of layers and texture. The beauty of the short shag is that, like your outfit, it can instantly transform your look. Make it more feminine by creating soft curls with a curling wand. Going for a more edgy look? Change the part and straighten the hair.
Bangs Are Back
It's the trend that reoccurs at this time every year. Bangs continue to be a popular trend because they look great with nearly any haircut, from short bobs to long beach waves. If you're considering bangs, keep two things in mind. First, your new haircut will be a bit high maintenance. You'll need to dedicate more time to styling in the morning and make more frequent salon trips to get trimmed. Second, this is not a look you should try to attempt by yourself. Bangs gone wrong are difficult to repair, so be sure to visit your stylist to have them professionally cut.
Keep Your Lob
The lob was the cool girl haircut of the summer and it isn't going anywhere for the fall and winter. Chrissy Teigen is giving major style inspiration with plenty of photos of her lob on social media. Follow Chrissy's lead and add dimension with darker shades to update the look for the fall and winter months. As a bonus, the cut looks great as it grows out. Frame Your Face If you've let your summer hair grow out, you might have a bit of length to deal with now. Rather than having those layers trimmed, try a face framing contoured cut. The look is just one layer, hitting right at the collarbone. The sleek style looks best with straightened hair and a center part, giving it a cool, modern edge. For style inspiration, look at pictures of Kylie Jenner when she lets her natural hair make an appearance. Unsure? See A Stylist Even armed with plenty of inspiration, it can be tough to choose a new haircut that's both trendy and flattering. Luckily, stylists can help.
